Join our Team as Controller for Egeria Enterprises
Egeria Enterprises is a fast-growing company operating retail bookshops and managing commercial real estate development. We’re looking for an experienced accountant to bring our data-driven team to the next level. You will bring your background and skills to a range of accounting activities such as budgeting, financial reporting, accounts payable and inventory management, and capital project management.
The ideal candidate enjoys operating in an extremely fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and wants to be a key contributor on our growing team.
In this role, you will:
Produce accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close deliverables.
Prepare long-range and short-term financial and business forecasts.
Manage our vendor relationships to streamline our accounts payables and manage cash flow.
Coordinate sales tax and income tax with our internal team and CPA firm.
Provide accounting support for special projects and analysis as necessary.
You have:
Ability to solve problems and think creatively - because we want you to use your skills to make our company better.
CPA required because then we know you’re serious about accounting.
2-4 years of relevant accounting experience.
Experience in retail is highly desirable. Experience in construction or property management would also be a plus.
Advanced Excel skills essential because we are a data-driven bunch of folks.
Knowledge of Quickbooks because that is the language we speak.
Experience working with multi-entity/consolidating financial statements because we love having lots of LLCs around us.
Understanding of cost accounting to take us to the next level.
Familiarity with tax planning to complement our outside CPA firm.
Experience establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls because we like to work like a well-oiled machine.
Excellent communication skills because our team is distributed, and we need to communicate well. We also need you to communicate well with our vendors and other partners.
Strong organization skills and ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
We offer a hybrid working environment and prefer someone who lives near either Provincetown on Cape Cod or close to the City of Boston or both.
